4TH SEMRSTER TEACHING PRACTICE :WEEK 01
DAY 01
18/11/2024 MONDAY
Day 1 of Teaching Practice Semester 4: A Promising Start
Today marked the beginning of the second phase of our fourth-semester teaching practice, and I'm thrilled to share that it got off to a great start. Despite the morning rush, I arrived at school at 9:15 AM, feeling energized and ready to take on the day.
As I walked through the gates, I was warmly greeted by students who eagerly approached me to chat and wish me well. Their enthusiasm was infectious, filling me with motivation and happiness. It's moments like these that remind me why I chose to become a teacher.
After handing over the register to the principal and submitting our letter from college, I was relieved to find that my periods and classes remained unchanged. My first lesson was with Class 8B during the second period, where I covered portion classify and learn. Although I had two substitution periods – two in the same class during the fourth and sixth hours – I was well-prepared.
Also I got a substitution period on 9D where I taught the lesson structure of joint.
The day flew by quickly, with lunch distribution at noon and the school day wrapping up at 3:30 PM. Despite the minor adjustments, I felt settled and focused throughout.
DAY 02
19/11/2024, TUESDAY
I arrived at 9:15 AM and was determined to make the most of my day. Despite my health, I had a successful fourth-hour class with the 10th graders, where I taught a lesson on the types of joints using the 5E model. The class went exceptionally well, and I was thrilled to see the students engaged and learning.
I also received a substitution period for the 8th grade, where I covered the topic of taxonomy. Although I wasn't scheduled to teach this period, I had prepared the lesson in advance, and it went smoothly. We even distributed lunch at noon. After a productive day, I left school at 3:30 PM.
DAY 03
Tuesday, November 20, 2024: A Day of Unexpected Rest
Today was a day I hadn't planned for - a sudden fever kept me from attending school. As soon as I could, I reached out to my affiliate teacher, subject teacher, and headmaster to let them know I'd be absent.
It's not ideal to miss a day of teaching, but I'm grateful for the understanding and support of my colleagues and school administrators. Now, I'm focusing on recovering and getting back to the classroom as soon as possible.
DAY 04
Thursday, November 21, 2024
Today marked the fourth day of my teaching teaching practice, and it was a fulfilling day indeed. I had a fifth-hour period with 9D, where I taught a lesson on body growth and bone development. This topic is crucial for students to understand, as it emphasizes the importance of maintaining strong bones and muscles through a balanced diet rich in vitamin D and calcium.
Additionally, I received a period with 8B, where I covered the topic of taxonomy, proposed by Linnaeus. The class went smoothly, and we distributed lunch as usual. Although I couldn't participate in distributing lunch today due to my busy schedule, it was great to see everything run smoothly. After a productive day, I left school at 3:30 PM, feeling satisfied with the progress we've made so far.
DAY 05
Friday, November 22, 2024
I arrived at school at 9:15 AM, ready to tackle the day's lessons. As per the timetable, I had a second-hour class with 8B, where I discussed the topic of taxonomy on animals. I also drew connections to the taxonomy of plants, which helped reinforce the students' understanding of the hierarchical system.
In addition to my scheduled class, I had prepared a lesson on muscles and exercises for 9D, just in case I received a substitution. As it turned out, I did get the substitution, and the class went exceptionally well. The students were highly engaged and showed great interest in the topic. We distributed lunch in the noon. After a productive day, I left school at 3:30 PM.
