TEACHING PRACTICE: WEEK 02

DAY 01

05/08/2024 MONDAY

Today was the third day of my teaching practice.I reached the school at 9.15 am,marked my attendance,and made some final preparations as I have to take class on 8B in the second period.

 After the morning prayer, HM meet us and give some instructions regarding the completion of our portion as onam exams are approaching.

After the the office staff came and assign us substitution classes.

when the bell rang it's the second period and I went to 8B ,it was my first class and I introduced myself to them,as there was no time to waste I started my portion and the first topic that I should teach was the"DIVERSITY AMONG CELLS AND TISSUES".I successfully completed the topic by giving activities and the students responded very well.In the class there was a special student so a teacher of special education also sits in my class to help that student in person.I also try my best to make him understand the topic.

Next was the interval and after that I got substitution in the same class, 8B.Ss portions were lagging ,I taught them my next topic "CELL DIFFERENTIATION AND STEM CELLS".Students understood the topic.Some students were not listening and I tried to make them listen by making them stand for sometime.The class was overall engaging as I incorporated ICT in the  whole lesson.

when the bell rang it was the 4th period and when it was their malayalam period and the teacher was not well so she assigned that period to me .it was me in the same class for 3 periods continuously and the students started to feel bored and this time I didn't teach them .I asked them about their interests and their areas of weakness, some students asked permission for practicing for arts fest and they practiced .The boys were naughty at times they make loud noises and I find some difficulty in controlling them.

At 12.30 it was the lunch break we went to serve the meal and after that we came back am ate lunch.I have no more periods and substitution in the noon today.So I stayed in the classroom preparing my lessons, by 3.30 the final bell rang and we returned back home.

DAY 02

06/08/2024 TUESDAY

Today is the fourth day of my teaching parctice. I reached school at 9 am and signed on register .Today is a historic day"HIROSHIMA DAY" the assembly was based on the incident of selfish action by America.The assembly give insight on consequences of war and depict sad plight of the Hiroshima victims and emphasize the hollowness of war.

After the assembly the period started at 10.15 am in 9D .I deal with the lesson "Absoprtion of nutrients and structure of villus".Pupil responded well .I showed slides for proper understanding. Children were curious to see the detailed structure of villus.

After the teaching session ,we distributed lunch at 12.30.Then we organized young kids for rally to lament sufferings of Hiroshima victims and it uphold a motto"STOP WAR".Childrens actively participated in the rally by holding placards containing mottos.

In the evening a mock scholarship test was conducted for the students of 8th standard. 

It is the National Means Cum Merit Scholarship(NMMS).The Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development  is offering this scholarship. The aim of this programme is to support meritorius students with financial aid.The Co ordinatior gave instructions about the NMMS exam, how to write it, how to study and how to prepare.It give a basic knowledge to students to deal with OMR exams and other aptitude tests.His motivational speech inspire students to compete and achieve this scholarship.After this exam bell rang for National Anthem.After the final bell we leave the school premises. 

DAY 03

07/08/2024 WEDNESDAY 

Today was the 5th day of my teaching  practice reached school at 9 am.Signed the register.As per the time table I have no classes today.But I got substitution on 8B during the third period and on 9D during the fifth hour.

In 8B as i have already planned my next lesson ANIMAL TISSUES.I successfully took the lesson by using slides activity cards and role play for ensuring active participation of students.We distributed lunch in the noon.

In 9D I have prepared meticulously to deal the topic "BLOOD AND BLOOD VESSELS" students showed active participation as it was a topic highly related to our lives. Activities were done properly. Followed by National Anthem we left the school premises at 3.30 p.m.

DAY 04

08/08/2024 THURSDAY 

Today was the 6th day of my teaching practice . I  reached the school at 9 am and  signed the register.  As per the timetable,  today I have  class in 9D during the fifth hour  .After distributing lunch in the noon the bell rang at 1.30 .

In today's class I dealt with the topic"LYMPH"  students understood the topic.I used rolepaly and shown images for effective transaction of the content.I concluded by asking questions, pupil responded well.We all leave the school at 3.30p.m.

DAY 05

09/08/2024  FRIDAY

Today was the 7th day of my teaching practice .Reached school at 9 a.m.Signed register.Today I have period in 8B during the 2nd period and in 9D during the 4th hour.

In 8B I dealt the lesson "MERISTEMATIC TISSUES". I have used slides to show the difference between meristematic cells and mature cells. I used Ict throughout the lesson for better understandingofthematerial . Pupil understood the topic and I told them to draw and write down the differences on their notebook.

In 9D,I took the topic "TRANSPORT OF NUTRIENTS". I used videos and distributed activity cards . Students understood the topic well.

We distributed lunch in the noon .Left the school premises after National Anthem.
