3rd SEM : WEEK 07
DAY 01
7/10/2024 MONDAY
Today was a rainy day. I arrived at school at 9:15 AM and signed the register. According to the timetable, I had my regular second period with class 8B. However, due to substitutions, I unexpectedly received three additional periods with the same class.
Initially, I was concerned about how the students would react to having me for four consecutive periods. But, things went smoothly. During the second period, I showed them videos related to the chapter. This helped set the tone for the rest of our time together.
In the third and fourth periods, I delivered my lesson on polyhouse farming and precision farming and distributed notes. The class remained engaged, and I was relieved that the students didn't seem irritated by my extended presence.
During the noon break, we distributed lunch. Later, in the sixth period, the students requested to go for Physical Training (PT) instead of attending class. They explained that they hadn't had a PT period in two months, so I accommodated their request and let them go.
We wrapped up the day at 3:30 PM as usual, bringing an end to an unexpectedly eventful but successful day.
DAY 02
8/10/2024 TUESDAY
Day 26 of Teaching Practice: A Productive Day.
Today was a fulfilling day at school, filled with meaningful events and effective teaching. I arrived at 9:00 AM, signed the register, and attended the morning assembly. The assembly was particularly lively, as the winners of the cricket tournament were announced and awarded a trophy. The students' enthusiasm was palpable as they cheered for their peers, celebrating their achievement.
The assembly also covered other important topics, including the GOTEC inauguration and computer distribution by the block Panchayat member. The PTA president shared essential details on maintaining the school compound.
My first-period class with 9D was a highlight. I meticulously planned and executed my lesson on cellular respiration, ensuring students grasped the complex concepts. They actively participated, clarifying doubts and demonstrating a thorough understanding.
Also my teacher informed me about a . During lunch distribution, I interacted with students and colleagues. We concluded the day with the national anthem and ensured students departed in an orderly fashion at 3.30 p.m
Looking forward for tomorrow's opportunities.
DAY 03
9/10/2024, WEDNESDAY
A Surprise Teaching Opportunity.
Today was unexpectedly eventful, despite initially having no periods scheduled. I received a substitution request to teach 8B during the second hour.
The topic was "Cultivation without Soil," focusing on hydroponics and aeroponics. These innovative agricultural techniques harness science to grow plants sans soil. I was pleased to see students grasp the concepts, and the class progressed smoothly.
After the engaging lesson, my teaching duties concluded. In the noon, I distributed lunch and spent time relaxing before wrapping up the day at 3:30 PM.
Sometimes, unexpected teaching opportunities bring the greatest rewards.
Incorporating science into agriculture sparks curiosity and enthusiasm.
Effective teaching can inspire students to explore innovative fields.
Until next time...
DAY 04
10/10/2024, THURSDAY
"Teaching Triumph: Overcoming Nervousness and Impressing My Teacher.
Today was the second time my teacher observed my class, and I was determined to make it a success. I had arranged a special second-period session to accommodate their schedule. Despite my natural tendency towards nervousness, I had thoroughly prepared my lesson on anaerobic respiration.
To make the session engaging, I planned a live demonstration using curd and milk to illustrate lactic acid fermentation and yeast, sugar, appam batter to illustrate alcohol fermentation. My hard work paid off – the class went smoothly, and I successfully led the discussion.
My students were cooperative and responsive, participating actively in the activities. I provided adequate reinforcement, and their engagement made me proud. My teacher was impressed, which added to my satisfaction.
The rest of the day was busy due to the science fair and work experience fair. Many classes were vacant, and it was our responsibility to keep students engaged. Thankfully, the hectic day ended at 3:30 PM.
With the Navratri holidays approaching, I'm looking forward to a well-deserved break on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. See you on Monday!"
