TEACHING PRACTICE : WEEK 03

DAY 01

12/08/2024 MONDAY

I reached school at 9.15 am,signed register .As per the timetable I have period in 8B during the 2nd period.In today's class I deal with the topic "PLANT TISSUES ",students were little bit annoying as they want me to stop the class and allow them to practice as it the arts festival tomorrow. But I tried to make them listen to me ,i taught the topic well and they understood it.

 We distributed lunch in the noon. During the 5th period I got substitution in 9D as it was my class I taught them atopic "HEART".  Students were all busy with their practicing sessions and they were all excited to perform all these  tomorrow. After the final bell we leave the school premises along with the students.

DAY 02

13/08/2024, TUESDAY 

Today was the 9 th day of my teaching practice. It was also the first day of the  ARTS FESTIVAL. 

I reached the school at 8:50 am . The program was scheduled at 9:00 am .The chief guest was Avni a budding singer .The inaugural speech was delivered by the head of the institution Mr. Shaji sir and the PTA president. The competitions on various events began at 10:30 am . There were Malayalam recitation, English recitation,Urdu recitation, vanchi paat , duff mutt , guitar, vanchipattu  nadanpattu, on all levels .

 The winners were announced at the end of the program. I left the school at 5:00 pm.

DAY 04

14/08/2024, WEDNESDAY 

Today was the second day of the arts festival in Govt. V&HSS Pirappancode. I reached the school at 9:00 am . The events began at 9:15 am .There were classical dance , group dance , thiruvathira, oppana, mime, group song competitions. 

We had our lunch break at 12:50 . After the break we were assigned with the task of making a list of winners of various events, 2023-24 SSLC winners, plus two students, NCC cadets and winners of various sports events . We arranged the trophies according to the list and completed our task . In the evening session there  was  a meeting with the PTA president, principal incharge , headmaster and various members of the school association. After a long speech the prize distribution was done. Students were given trophies for their achievements. The program came to an end at 4:30 pm .I left school at 4:15 pm .

DAY 04

16/08/2024,  Friday 

_Day 11 of My Teaching Practice - Parliament Election Day_

Today was a unique day - the 11th day of my teaching practice and the parliament election day at GVHSS Pirappancode and other Govt schools. I arrived at school by 9 a.m. and signed the register. We were assigned to assist class teachers in different classes. I was allotted to Class 9C with Valsala TR, as Sheeja TR was running late.

The election procedures began at 10 a.m., but due to some technical issues, the system for 9C wasn't working. Fortunately, Suresh Sir helped us resolve the problem, and by 10:30 a.m., the students started polling. The election was conducted smoothly, with three students selected as polling officers and a presiding officer. By 11 a.m., the results were announced, and Akshith Anil from Class 9C won with 19 votes. Although he was absent, his classmates cheered for him.

Next, we called all the class leaders to elect the school leader. As teachers were busy with the election process, we were assigned to take classes. I taught Class 8B about "VASCULAR TISSUES" using slides and videos and asked students to draw images of xylem and phloem in their notebooks. We distributed lunch at noon.

During the 6th period, I got a substitution in 9D, where I taught the portion "CARDIAC CYCLE". Students responded well and were eager to learn about the working of our heart. I showed them a video on the topic. I left school at 3:40 p.m. after ensuring students left in an orderly fashion.
